WWE NXT Preview

Another Wednesday night, another edition of WWE NXT on the WWE Network. Top Rope Press is here with your full preview for the show. Ryan Fogarty is absent this week, so I’ll have to do my best to fill-in for our resident NXT expert.

Below are five reasons we believe you should tune into the WWE Network tonight.

1. Almas vs. Lorcan

The opening bout this week will feature Andrade “Cien” Almas taking on Oney Lorcan. No spoilers here, but judging from the live reports when this bout was filmed last month, it is a very good contest. The match took place at the University of Central Florida, just as last week’s show did, and the bigger than usual NXT TV crowd was really into Lorcan.

2. Asuka vs. Angel Rose

WWE NXT Women’s Champion takes on Angel Rose (dubbed Priscilla Zuniga in NXT) on this week’s show. Rose also recently worked for Impact Wrestling, so this is a rare chance to see her in action for both WWE and Impact mere weeks apart. Rose has been a talented name on the indy scene, will we see her more in the future for NXT?

3. The Tag Team Champions In Action

WWE NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain are in action this week in a bout with the Ealy Twins. However this match is merely fodder for a big angle that takes place following the match. And this angle sets our direction for NXT TakeOver: Orlando in three weeks during WrestleMania weekend. What direction will the NXT Tag Team Championship story take?

4. Bobby Roode vs. Kassius Ohno

Bobby Roode will defend his NXT championship against Kassius Ohno. William Regal announced on last week’s show that the winner of this bout will take on Shinsuke Nakamura for the title at NXT TakeOver: Orlando. So who will main event NXT’s biggest show of the year against the King of Strong Style?

5. NXT TakeOver: Orlando Direction?

Will any other matches for the big TakeOver show during WrestleMania weekend be made official? We’re just a couple of weeks out now and the card is really starting to take shape. With the world’s biggest wrestling fans in Orlando for the craziest wrestling weekend of the year, this TakeOver show is sure to be one of the biggest. We’ll look forward to getting more details this week during WWE NXT on the WWE Network.

Check back with us here Wednesday night for a full review of this week’s edition of WWE NXT.
