With one week of the NFL season in the books, and the first Thursday night game of the year on the horizon, what can NXT do to keep from fans from raking the upstart promotion out with the autumn leaves? Adam Cole and friends, some hard hitting Brits, and the next wave of female title contenders hope they have the answer.
5. The Empress of The Next Tomorrow
With Asuka all but gone after last week’s goodbye and send off to the main roster, it’s time for the next crop of women to step up and try to take her place. Coming off the heels of last night’s Mae Young Classic, the current crop of ladies certainly have motivation to continue to make a name for themselves in NXT. Ruby Riot, Billie Kay, and Peyton Royce are all in action tonight, hoping to establish themselves as the new face of the brand. Ember Moon, Nikki Cross, and Sonya Deville can also make a good argument for the main event. The division is actually in pretty good hands right now, with or without an infusion of talent from the MYC.
4. BayBay Come Back To Me
Adam Cole and his cohorts Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly have wreaked havoc (is there any other way to execute havoc?) since showing up at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III, but we haven’t had much of an explanation to their antics. Clearly they are out to take gold and seem not to care how they get it. Will they force champs Drew McIntyre and SAnitY into a reaction or will they continue their attacks unchecked. Hopefully, we start to see the talented trio in the ring soon and see what all the fuss is about.
