Impact Wrestling announced yesterday, via their President Ed Nordholm, that the promotion has formed a working relationship and alliance with Mexican promotion AAA. Nordholm and Jeff Jarrett met with AAA officials yesterday, and the announcement was made during the celebration of Rey de Reyes (translated to King of Kings), an annual tournament held by AAA.

It’s being reported that this new alliance between Impact and AAA will not effect Impact’s relationship with CRASH Lucha Libre. It is, however, understood that both CRASH and AAA are currently at odds with each other, so it will certainly be interesting to see what Impact brings to that dynamic.

Impact and CRASH announced their partnership on March 11th, in a deal which saw CRASH also partner with Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, whom Impact has a good relationship with.

The new deal with AAA could potentially open the door for a number of well-known independent stars to be featured on Impact Wrestling over the coming months. These stars could potentially include Johnny Mundo, Drago, Brian Cage, & La Parka. Obviously, at this stage, it is dependent on the talent contracts with their respective employers, and we will be bringing further updates as and when they become available.
