It’s been announced that Jim Cornette will be inducting The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year. Cornette has a long history with Ricky and Robert, so in all honesty, it’s a pretty good choice.

But, with all stuff that he has had to say, mostly negative, about WWE and its talent, one has to wonder if Corny will make it out of Orlando next weekend alive. And, one has to wonder how smart it is to give Corny a live microphone at any event, especially a WWE one

That being said, Cornette was at his in-character (maybe) best when asked about inducting his long-time rivals.

“By any standard, Ricky and Robert belong in the Hall of Fame. And that’s whether its longevity as a team, the attendance records they set, or the great matches that they had, which fans can still see on WWE Network.

“Superman needs Lex Luthor, Batman needs The Joker, and we were the antithesis of everything The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express stood for and their wrestling style. It just clicked. I said these horrible, degrading things about these two, fine, young, upstanding examples of American boyhood, and people, on numerous occasions, tried to kill us.

“Between the ’80s with The Midnight Express and the ’90s with The Heavenly Bodies, and then in the 2000s on the reunions with The Midnights, I think only Bobo Brazil and The Sheik had a longer-running rivalry. And I still haven’t put an end to Rock ‘n’ Roll! I haven’t been able to do it, so I guess I have to roll over and induct them.”

If he doesn’t at least try to hit one of them with that tennis racket, I’ll be sorely disappointed. It’s tradition, after all.

WWE has announced that American Alpha will defend their SmackDown Tag Team Titles on this week’s episode of SmackDown Live. With the team having no announced WrestleMania match, one can only wonder if we will see a title change this week to at least set up something for one of the blue brand’s titles at Mania.

Finn Bálor, despite being on RAW brand house shows for the past two weeks, is not scheduled to appear on tonight’s RAW. It’s rumored that we won’t be seeing The Demon King on WWE television until WrestleMania or the RAW after Mania.
