On the recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer discussed the potential backstage implications of The Miz’s promo on Dean Ambrose during the MizTV segment of RAW this past Monday. The Miz asserted that while the fans continue to voiceferously support Ambrose, he could never fully break through the glass ceiling in WWE because he was “lazy and complacent.” Meltzer insinuated that there is perhaps truth to these comments, at least in the eyes of certain higher ups within the company:
Usually when those words are used on television in promos, it’s because somebody thinks that, which tells me that somebody feels Dean is complacent right now. So it sucks for him.
Such negative perspectives of Ambrose aren’t anything new, with Steve Austin expressing a similar sentiment during his podcast with Ambrose on the WWE Network last year.
Elsewhere it appears NXT’s Aleister Black could be headed to the 205 Live at some point in the future after the company began billing the star as a cruiserweight. Black is currently scheduled to be participating in the upcoming main roster tour of the UK, where he is set to compete in a series of triple threat Cruiserweight Championship matches against Neville and Austin Aries.
