It’s Tuesday night, and around here, that means WWE NXT. Tonight saw more build up for next month’s NXT TakeOver: WarGames and some new rivalries bloom.

We got a Triple Threat Women’s Division match between Nikki Cross, Liv Morgan, and Peyton Royce. The winner would earn a slot in the Fatal Four Way at TakeOver for the vacated NXT Women’s Title. Peyton Royce managed to win the bout and overcome the other two women, not to mention the interference of Taynara Conti and her seeming need to start something with Nikki, to earn a spot in the TakeOver Match.

Lio Rush finally made his in-ring debut against the man who mucked up his debut last week. He faced The Velveteen Dream, who (surprisingly) easily dispatched Rush before continuing to mock Aleister Black. That boy definitely has a death wish.

Danny Burch tried his best to take out Lars Sullivan, but that effort didn’t go over too well. Burch fell like all the rest. And, The Street Profits continued their winning ways in a tag team bout.

Then, it was time for the main event, which was a TakeOver rematch between Andrade Almas and Johnny Gargano. These two put on a solid, entertaining bout (even though it was nowhere near as good as their TakeOver match; of course, the atmosphere had a lot to do with that).

Gargano’s troubles continue, as he can’t seem to win the big ones. Those inner demons that are associated with Tommaso Ciampa’s betrayal continue to haunt him. NXT is going to have to flesh this story out if they expect to draw it out until Ciampa returns.

Fun match between these two, with Zelina Vega providing the distraction with her #DIY shirt to provide the distraction to Gargano. That gave Almas time to recover, take control, and defeat Gargano with the Hammerlock DDT.
