NJPW World Tag League 2017 Results

NJPW World Tag League 2017 continued on Friday from Aichi. Friday’s event didn’t air live on NJPW World, but they have uploaded the four tournament matches for everyone to watch. This will be the trend until the next live show on December 8th.

Friday’s A Block matches kicked off with TenCozy facing off against Hangman Paige and Yujiro Takahashi. Pretty decent match between these two teams. I still manage to enjoy Page in pretty much everything he does, so I am not complaining. Yujiro got the pin on Kojima via Pimp Juice.

Next up was The Ornery Uncles squaring off with EVIL & SANADA. Fun match between these two teams, and any time I can see luchador Nakanishi climb the ropes and fly is a good day. SANADA ended up getting the pin on Nakanishi after they nailed him with the Magic Killer.

MiSu & Iizuka was up against Juice & Abuse next, and to say that I desperately wanted to see Callihan get killed by one or both of his opponents is an understatement. Iizuka beat on Juice in the crowd with chairs, while MiSu tried to rip Abuse’s arm off elsewhere in the crowd; it was beautiful. Seeing MiSu and Iizuka win a math has never been so satisfying. Ref distraction, Iizuka with the Iron Finger to Juice, and Gotch Style Piledriver win the day.

And, the main event saw Chase Owens and Bad Luck Fale take on YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto. Tacos continues to be one of the most consistent an solid workers in NJPW, and Chase Owens is finally beginning to grow on me a bit; his package piledriver is truly a thing of beauty. Goto got the pin on Chase in this one for the win. Despite how good this team has looked in the tournament, though, I still don’t see them winning. I stand by my prediction that Goto and MiSu will face off for the NEVER Title at WrestKingdom.
